Post-Jam Update Roadmap & Plans (0.92a+)


Hello, everyone!

This post is basically an announcement for upcoming content that is planned for further post-jam updates (0.92a and above). 0.91a brought in many significant changes enough to make the game more presentable before the voting period ends, but it should be evident that there is much more to be desired.
I can't promise that all of this content will be added to the game - but I'll definitely try my best to get stuff done whenever I can!

FULL ROADMAP:

High Priority Changes:

Players: Major changes to the playable teams' spellcards/bombs so they feel more unique and fun to use. 

Gameplay:

  • Finish the stage section - the stage is planned to have at least three more waves, a longer midboss fight... and maybe a few more secrets along the line!
  • Add one more attack to Chimata's fight to make the boss theme fully loop. The theme of the attack is planned to be "MLM/WLW Solidarity".

Graphics, Music and Sounds:

  • Stage theme and title theme. 
  • Character artwork: Chimata, Kobiko (midboss), Rinnosuke & Remilio.
  • Boss/midboss declarations at the beginning of their respective fights.
  • New game cover.
  • Proper warning graphics.
  • Addition of more bullet sounds.

Miscellaneous:

  • High-score implementation.

Medium Priority Changes:

Gameplay: Dedicated practice options - you can choose to start the stage from certain enemy waves, practice the boss fight or practice individual boss/midboss patterns.

Miscellaneous: Decreased loading time on the title screen/menus to make navigation faster. 

Low Priority/Unlikely Changes:

Gameplay: "Special Round", a third brutal difficulty for expert players.

Miscellaneous:

  • Story Mode, a toggleable dialogue/cutscene mode which adds story-rich dialogue sections like the official Touhou games. Other dialogue/cutscene modes (Arcade and Off/No Dialogue) will remain available.
  • In-game manual.
